RE 5.8.0
Richard/John.
I found the same issue when I installed 5.8.0 the first time... so I
uninstalled it and
When I reinstalled it, at the file prompt, I just pointed it to the
c:/weatherlink folder and it installed there with no problems.. Also when I
did that, it found the wunderground add-in and my station with no problems.

Then I discovered that my log was collecting continuous "CRC error". This,
I discovered from the Davis site, is related to the serial/USB dll.. and is
a known bug for those using Windows XP with Serial/USB. There is a new DLL
fix on the Davis site that corrected that problem too.

Then, I discovered when I checked with wunderground that I was using an OLD
version (2004) of the add-in. I found and installed the newest add-in and
have been pleased with the improvements!!

Anyway, after those few probs that took about 45 min to correct, I'm up and
running with 5.8.0..

Yeah, I found that out when I installed it on my computer, so I said the
heck with it, it isn't worth the hassle, and kept using the old version.
The
new version isn't giving me anything I need.

I thought I would wait things out to see if there were issues wrt
5.8, and finally decided to install today. I notice the software now
wants to install in a different location (the more traditional
location under Program Files instead of their own top level
directory). They don't pull any data over from elsewhere, which seems
to include all the configuration data. Have people just gone ahead
and installed over the top of the existing directory and had things
work alright? Thanks.
