Let me ask you all something.  My station tends to report too warm in the winter and too cool in te summer BASED UPON other reasdings I and my neighbor take.  I know this b/c the local forcast at the airport (KROC) will say the low will hit 38-40F and I will hit 30-35.  I know it is less than 38 assuredly as demonstrated by all the dead basil, peppers and tomatoes in my garden following a frosting that didnt exist according to the NWS.  
 
And the same (opposite?) happens in the summer.  "We"  (KROC) hit 93 today.  a record.  "I" hit almost 88.  I have three outide devices and they are pretty close (except the one on the brick-lined concrete front porch - it is always too warm!)
 
I sit and wonder.  Am I doing something wrong?  is my placement bad?  Is my equipment (Davis VP2). 
 
It is bad enough I ahve to battle the male Red-winged Black bird that feels S*&%ing in my equipment is fun!
