Now that you mention that...

Somewhere in the newsletter archive on the Davis website, there is
a story about someone who was building or renovating a house and
a heavy rain caused some damage. At first the insurance co denied
the claim because the local NWS station didn't record any rain.
Turned out either that person or someone nearby had a VP and did
record the event, which the ins co excepted as proof it had rained.


In this case it would probably be best to get, in writing, from
the insurance company if they would except a personal station near
the site as proof of the weather conditions for the event.
