When I did the UART Serial/USB update, it didn't work until I installed it
in the same subdirectory with the davis software. (On 5.8 install, I did
override the default install directory and put it in the same directory as
5.7.1)   Once I copied the uart fix in that directory as well and ran it to
update, everything then worked fine. 

I don't recall weatherlink crashing, just that the log reported continuous
CRC errors until I installed the new update.
