[wxqc] Data gaps due to software updates

I selected the option to let me install the updates at a time of my own choosing when to install the updates. At least one of my former anti virus programs would reset that to automatically do it at 3AM.
That anti virus software got the order of the boot.
From time to time I still peek in the security folder to make sure that setting has not changed.
When you have to reboot, I don't think the system is down long enough to seriously effect the data quality!

Yet another gap in my data last night due to MS updates (I think). Very annoying. I realize I can turn them off and selectively update, but that seems like a workaround and it will still result in a data gap at some point.
Guess I need a dedicated box and maybe a different operating system?
I'm curious what other folks are doing to get around this problem.
