[wxqc] Dewpoint Error

You no doubt will do as I will, the next time: unplug the sensors before
doing any work on the ISS. I learned the same lesson.

argggggg!!!!!

I finally disassembled my Davis Vantage Pro station sensor assembly only to
find the gauze shield was pushed aside in one corner and either an ant or a
termite had tried to make a nest in the same area(also could have been a
"mud dauber").

I have cleaned up the "area" and pushed the gauze back in place after
sliding out the gauze shield and replacing the gauze and then the shield.

A tremendous spike at around 1600EST on 05/07/2007 when the work was carried
out and my offset set back to zero...now lets see the world 5return to
normality!! <G>
Best regards,

I am very puzzled!

My dewpoint on a daily basis is being recorded as in error (on the high
side) and has been doing this on and off for several months now.

In the absence of a Sling Psychrometer I have made a slight adjustment to
the stations sensor until I can actually lay my hands on one!

The part that puzzles me is that since I have made the adjustment to my
station (about 5 days ago) and the graph seems right on the money I still
get the dreaded red x at 97% accuracy, AND as I said earlier this problem
has been plaguing me for a month or so, SO WHY if I look at the daily graph,
http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/site/AS132 I see the red x but over 3
days or longer I get 100% accuracy and a green tick,
http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/site/AS132?tile=10;days=3#Data

There are enough stations in the immediate area to get a good average
against so until I can either make or obtain a Sling Psychrometer, I will
remain perplexed and puzzled as to the difference 2 days make to an ongoing
problem!

Anyone in the Charlotte, NC area care to lend me a sling? (or check my
station sensor if their close by)?

Regards
Steve, AS132/kf6wax-3
