Glad to help... my statement that 'you don't need WeatherLink if you use VWS/VWSAPRS' was not exactly true, since you need to load the Davis VP USB drivers from the WeatherLink disk to enable your Windows PC to communicate with the Davis VP, thus to feed VWS. Anyway... all is well in the end.
Mesowest has only the hourly ASOS reports in its database, but the ASOS generates a daily climate summary of the max/min temps (as extracted from 1 minute temps recorded locally at the ASOS) that may not otherwise be contained in the hourly reports. WFO Taunton gets the daily ASOS climate report and that is the basis for the record reports and the climate data sent to NCDC in Asheville, NC.
