Bob,

I haven't had this unit one year..and since the firmware is dated Nov 28th
2005, I thought the "updater" hardware wasn't necessary.

Terry,

For that old of a unit you will need the Updater from Davis for this
update and then after you will no longer need it for updates.

They rent it for under $30.00 USD incl shipping and you can call them,
and also verify you need the updater at this number:
