Hi ya'll,

About 9 years ago, I bought a cabled Davis WMII and started positioning the sensors close to the house and even sometimes on my ham radio tower, but still, close to the eve of the house since it was a cabled system. One evening after the sun had gone down, I had felt heat coming out from the vented eve of the house and so, I moved the temp/humudity sensor. My anemometer was at 45 ft on my 55 ft tower to get the breeze above the tree tops. My rain gauge was installed on a small wooden platform on the top of my roof. I found myself playing musical chairs with the sensors. When I was having data log problems with the WMII, a friend got me a VP2, where I continued playing musical sensors.

I finally moved the VP2 to the front of my house, (My wife suddenly gave me permission to do so!) My VP2 is linked to AP722 (WeatherUnderground KFLDADEC2) and whenever my old WMII is working, it sends out wx data at AS549 (WU- KFLDADE2).

I am planning (again) on linking my AS549 to the APRS link on 144.390 so that the eventual long term loss of DSL (again during any hurricanes like 2 years ago) the wx data won't be compromised (again). Ah yes, it's still a hobby that I enjoy!
