Could be expensive to implement IT security measures to identify these people, time and resources we should be putting towards improving warnings and saving lives.    Regarding the automated component of NWS volunteer weather observation data collection, this is why CWOP (Russ) spends time validating station location and email addresses.  Validating the source and pedigree of information is critical to it appropriate application in the mission.
