Hope this helps... 73 Jerry N9LYA

Subject: [wxqc] Removing a station from CWOP

Is there any possiblity to remove a station from CWOP? There is a station
local to me that has been broadcasting defective data for over a year now.
Made worse its an amature radio club's system, but the listed contact's
email address is no longer valid. Perhaps the station was abandoned. I am
not sure, the licence due to expire next month..

Here is a copy of the email I tried to send to them.

Hi, this is KC8YPW – Eric Hultman, and I just did a QRZ lookup for the
station W8LRC to determine the owner of a weather station located at or near
Alden nash rd and between Downes and McPherson Street.

The reason for the contact is I am trying to see if you can either reset
your weather station or possibly take it offline. For over a year now your
readings have been reported into the national weather service via CWOP and
MADIS has been tracking values that are at times up to 120Deg F out of snyc
with the rest of the surrounding area.

The reason that this came to my attention is that my station’s own reported
values are being error checked against your station and several other
stations in the surrounding area. When your stations values are taken into
account it skews the averages such that my reports could potentially be
shifted.

Can you please review your results and correct the error?

Here is a link to your general page:
