[wxqc] Wind rose control object

Thanks,
Good to hear. I don’t have much time for documentation on this.
Right now it is a test form and a stand-alone control written in VB2005. The
test form generates some random wind data to show the graphic capability of
the control. In the interactive programming environment you can set various
properties like colors, number of historic records displayed, gausian wind
lobes, etc. Basically the idea right now it to make sure it has all of the
“features” a weather dial for displaying wind needs for a consumer-style
freeware program and that it cooperates as expected. Basically this could be
tacked into an existing program that doesn’t have graphic controls to
instantly provide that functionality. Either that or it could be linked to
WeatherLink, though it wouldn’t offer all that much more there.
Right now I am adding the feature of having fake weather data
populated during design time so you can see what your changes do without
running the test form. You will probably want this later version as I have
fixed various “issues” and consolidated the interface a bit.
This probably isn’t the place for this discussion, but I was
unsure of how else to make sure my mail got through!
Thanks for the reply.

If you're referring to this one. It arrived. I didn't reply because I'm
unclear whether it is a tool for VB programmers, or whether it is a
self-contained object, or what. How is it used, I guess is what I need to
know.

Hi All,
I am for fun working on a user control in VB2005 (HYPERLINK
"http://VB.NET" \nVB.NET) that displays wind and historical wind data on a
rose that has mouse-over inquiry on the data. I am wondering if anyone would
like to test it out or offer suggestions on what I can do to improve the
control. My ultimate goal is to provide these free to whoever is developing
freeware weather software. Lots of features, and I think they look nice
also.
So if anyone is interested, please E-mail me and I will provide
what I have directly. When I get closer to a final revision, I will put the
source code on my site for whatever anyone would like to do with it.
Other controls I plan to make once I get some feedback:
Air pressure/dial control with historical displays
Temperature gauge that looks like a classic thermometer, only
has a lot of display control
Possibly a wind barb that "morphs" with wind speed and
direction.
