In the first 12 hours of 1/13 UTC (last night) there are two different
cases of the "Chinook" winds (discussed below by Dave) and temperature
increases at my location NE of Boulder, CO.

Subject: [wxqc] Katabatic Wind Heat Spikes?
We see lots of sun spikes in stations with poor radiation shielding, but
sometimes you have to believe the data!
Check out CW2749 in Loveland, Colorado:
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=CW2749&last=72
On January 11th at about 4 UTC (10/22L), 12 UTC (11/06L), and 18 UTC
(11/12L), there are three 20F degree rise and fall in temperature.
Coincidently, there are three wind squals from the southwest with gusts
over 30 mph. Given that CW2749 is in the shadow of the Rocky Mountain
front range, its a good bet this is a result of katabatic (downslope)
warming, aka "Chinook" winds.
