Boy at those temperatures, I can see why you might call it dog mushing.
Are you having any trouble with flooding?
We got down to 14f last night which is pretty cold for this climate.
We'll have alot of damage to plants.

It seem like every time when Pacific storms punch up towards Alaska
you guys
in the lower 48 get to enjoy our weather or out-in-out steal our snow.
Unfortunately, we have mass melting that screws up skiing and dog
mushing
(Iditarod). Temperatures for the past 2 week have range between ~48 to
32
(highs - daytime) and ~34 to 18 (lows-night time).
I have observed on numerous occasions that storms north of Hawaii and
in the
vicinity of Guam get influenced the weather in Alaska. Lows and highs
either or in combination punch out from Guam and or up just north of
Hawaii
towards Alaska causing a bulging effect. This bulge causes cold Yukon
or
Artic air masses to be pushed down through Canada. If you look at NOAA
satellites images you can see this effect.

If this link does not work go to www.arh.noaa.gov and click the GOES
link
and select one of the links to the satellite loops, IR and water vapor
are
the best. From here check out Hawaii's and Guam's Satellite links

Hi All:
I have to say, this is a serious arctic airmass, not seen in the lower
48 states for 3 years:
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=KB7DZR
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=CW1904

http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=KB9VSQ
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=CW4420
... with 14 states measuring temperatures below zero! I guess we are
getting a little taste of what the Russians were seeing last month,
when
we were having a record breaking warm month. Ah, good times.
Ya'll be safe out there, this degree of cold should make you think
twice
about casual travel.

Yes, this is certainly the coldest I've seen it since we purchased our
weather station. I hope everyone can remain warm and safe.

Hmm different perspectives. Here in central Maine, I thought the
weather
was
just returning to its seasonal normal after a few heat spells! :-)

Mid 30's and wet here in Texas. With a possiblity of ice later
today/tonight. I don't recall being told it'd get this cold when we
moved here!

It is 15 here in the Bootheel of Missouri. woke up this morning to find
3
inches of snow and sleet on the ground, also found out my computer
froze up
earlier and was not uploading reports. I hate it when that happens. I
think
it is the weatherlink software I am using seems to be unstable at times.
Anyways........Stay Warm.
